What Makes Bix'n Andy Different

Bix'n Andy is a family-owned Austrian trigger manufacturer founded by Andy Atzl, who patented the ball-bearing trigger mechanism that the brand is built on. Instead of the sliding friction used in traditional triggers, Bix'n Andy locks and releases the sear against two precision ball bearings. The result is a break that feels glass-crisp at any pull weight and repeats shot after shot without the drift or creep that plagues friction designs.

Every Bix'n Andy trigger is machined and hand-fitted in Austria. The side plate is removable so you can inspect, clean, or swap the sear insert without sending the trigger back. Sears are offered in 3.6 mm low, 3.8 mm medium (standard), and 4.0 mm high so you can fine-tune engagement to your specific action.

The Bix'n Andy Trigger Lineup

TacSport X. The PRS workhorse. Pull weight adjustable from 10 oz to 4.4 lbs. Removable safety lever and bolt release, 3.8 mm sear standard. Fits Remington 700 footprint actions and clones. Built for PRS, NRL, tactical matches, and hunting. Setup and adjustment: TacSport Rem 700 manual (PDF).

TacSport Pro-X. Same chassis as the TacSport X with extra CNC polishing and finishing borrowed from the Competition line. Adjustable from 3.5 oz to 2.2 lbs. If you want a competition-grade break in a format robust enough for field work, this is it. Setup and adjustment: TacSport Rem 700 manual (PDF).

Competition (Single-Stage). The Rem 700-footprint trigger that top benchrest and F-Class shooters are running. Adjustable from roughly 1 oz (30 g) up to 25 oz, with adjustable sear. Available with top-right, bottom, or no safety, with or without bolt release. Setup and adjustment: Competition Rem 700 manual (PDF). Tikka shooters: Competition Tikka manual (PDF).

Competition Two-Stage. The same action as the single-stage Competition with a clean, defined first-stage takeup. Popular with F-Class and ELR shooters who want a predictable wall before the break. Setup and adjustment: Competition Rem 700 manual (PDF).

Which Bix'n Andy Trigger Is Right for You?

  • PRS, NRL, tactical matches, hunting: TacSport X or TacSport Pro-X. Robust enough for field conditions, adjustable into the range most PRS stages require.
  • F-Class: Competition Two-Stage for shooters who want the defined wall, or Competition Single-Stage for a classic match break.
  • Building a custom rifle on a Rem 700 clone (BAT, Defiance, Impact, Kelbly, etc.): Any Bix'n Andy Rem 700-pattern trigger drops in. Confirm safety side and bolt-release configuration match your action.

Not sure which one fits your build? Contact us. Chris and the team run these triggers on their own rifles and will tell you straight what works.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Bix'n Andy triggers fit Remington 700 clones?

Yes. The Rem 700 lineup can drop into any Remington 700 footprint action, including BAT, Defiance, Impact Precision, Kelbly, Stiller, and Bighorn, as long as you match the safety and bolt-release configuration to your action.

What's the difference between single-stage and two-stage Bix'n Andy triggers?

A single-stage trigger breaks cleanly when you reach the set pull weight. A two-stage trigger has a defined first-stage takeup, then a wall, then a crisp break at the final stage weight. Benchrest and single-stage purists prefer single-stage; many F-Class, PRS, and ELR shooters prefer the predictability of two-stage.

How light will a Bix'n Andy trigger go?

The Competition and Benchrest models adjust down to roughly 1 oz (30 g). TacSport Pro-X goes as low as 3.5 oz. TacSport X starts at 10 oz for field use. Always verify local match rules and bolt-close safety before running sub-3-oz weights.

Do I need a gunsmith to install one?

Most Rem 700 footprint actions are a drop-in swap with a punch and a torque wrench, and every trigger ships with installation instructions. If you're not comfortable, any gunsmith who works on Rem 700s can do the install in minutes.

What sear height should I order?

All Bix'n Andy triggers ship with the 3.8 mm medium sear, which fits the vast majority of Rem 700 and clone actions. Low (3.6 mm) and high (4.0 mm) sears are available by special request if your action needs fine engagement tuning.
