Bartlein Barrel 6.5mm - Precision and Performance Redefined

Bartlein Barrel - SS, 6.5mm, B#13 Remington Varmint, 8 Twist, 29'' Blank, 5R

Introducing the Bartlein Barrel 6.5mm, a model of precision and performance. Designed for diverse shooting applications, this barrel is perfect for Short Range Light Gun Benchrest, 1000 yard Benchrest, F-Class, and Varmint hunting. It's also ideal for Hunter class competitions and is compatible with calibers from 223 Remington rim size cases to Magnum cases, thanks to its 3_ load port.

Contour and Barrel Weight

The barrel's contour significantly affects its weight. Heavier contours provide stability and reduce movement or wandering as the barrel heats up, which is crucial for maintaining accuracy. At Bartlein Barrels, we specialize in single point cut rifling, a method that does not induce stress into the barrel blank, making the contour less critical compared to button made barrels.

Impact of Contour on Shooting

Heavier barrels generally improve shooting performance by helping the shooter handle recoil and experience less fatigue. This allows for shooting a greater number of rounds over a longer period. However, lighter weight contours have also proven to be just as effective, if not better, than heavier ones in certain scenarios.

Suppressor Compatibility

Using a suppressor on a heavier barrel typically yields better results due to the stabilization of harmonic vibrations. We recommend not using a suppressor on barrels smaller than a medium palma contour to ensure optimal performance.

Single Point Cut Rifling vs. Button Rifling

Single point cut rifling, our exclusive method, ensures minimal stress on the barrel, maintaining consistent bore sizes and preventing bore enlargement Ð a common issue in button rifled barrels. This method is particularly advantageous when threading the muzzle for attachments like a muzzle brake or suppressor.

The Importance of Barrel Fluting

Fluting a barrel reduces weight and increases surface area, aiding in heat dissipation and adding aesthetic appeal. However, the depth of fluting is crucial to maintain the barrel's harmonic/vibration characteristics for accuracy.

Rifling Types and Performance

We offer three types of rifling - 4-groove, 5R, and Conventional-5. The 5R rifling, known for reducing bullet deformation and failure, has shown to improve the flight of the bullet. This style of rifling is particularly effective, except in specific scenarios like short jacket 6mm bullets used in short-range bench shooting.

The Bartlein Barrel 6.5mm represents the pinnacle of our craftsmanship in barrel making. Its unique features, from single point cut rifling to the option for fluting, make it an ideal choice for shooters seeking precision and reliability in their equipment.

Choose the Bartlein Barrel for an unparalleled shooting experience, where every detail is designed for accuracy and performance.
