Bartlein Barrel - SS, 7mm, B# Custom, 8 Twist, 31''

Introducing the Bartlein Barrel - SS, 7mm, B# Custom, featuring an 8 twist and a 31-inch blank. Crafted with precision and designed for superior performance, this barrel is a game-changer for shooters seeking top-notch quality and accuracy.

Key Features:

  • Heat Treated Steel: Our Bartlein barrels are constructed from heat-treated steel, ensuring durability and reliability even in demanding shooting conditions.
  • Hand-Polished Sizing Diameters: The sizing diameters are meticulously hand-polished to reduce sizing effort, making the reloading process smoother and more efficient.
  • Wide Range of Sizes: Choose from a variety of sizes, ranging from .185 inches to .368 inches, with increments of .001 inches, allowing you to find the perfect fit for your specific needs.

Determining the Proper Diameter:

Choosing the right bushing diameter is crucial for optimal performance. Here are two methods to help you make the right selection:

  1. Measurement of Neck Diameter: Measure the neck diameter of loaded or dummy cartridges with an accurate micrometer. Subtract 0.001 inches from the cartridge with the smallest average measurement to ensure a proper press fit for the bullet.
  2. Measurement of Neck Wall Thickness: Measure the neck wall thickness of cartridge cases using a ball-type or tubing micrometer. Double this measurement and add the bullet diameter to calculate the neck diameter of a loaded cartridge. Subtract 0.001 inches from this figure to determine the ideal bushing size.

While the first method is recommended for accuracy, the second method, involving a ball micrometer, can also be used but is considered less desirable due to its cost and potential difficulty in consistent readings.

If you are starting with new cases, the neck diameter is often small enough to hold a bullet without sizing. However, as a last resort, you can measure the neck wall thickness with a caliper. Keep in mind that calipers may have reduced measuring accuracy, and it may take a few attempts to select the correct bushing size.

It's important to note that these methods require that the cases being sized have a fairly uniform neck wall thickness or have been neck turned. If the neck wall thickness varies more than 0.002 inches, you may need to use a bushing slightly smaller than your calculations suggest and then use a size button in the die to achieve the final inside neck diameter.

Upgrade your shooting experience with the Bartlein Barrel - SS, 7mm, B# Custom, 8 Twist, 31''. Crafted with precision and offering a wide range of sizes, this barrel ensures top-tier performance for shooters who demand the best.
