This is a Krieger 22 Rimfire cut-rifled barrel blank built for serious rimfire precision work, whether you're putting together a benchrest rig, an NRL22 build, or a dedicated rimfire trainer that mirrors your centerfire setup. It's a stainless steel, 1-16 twist, straight 25-inch Match contour blank in 1.250-inch diameter, with a .217 bore, .222 groove, and 6 grooves. Like most Krieger bolt-action barrels, it ships as a blank: not yet chambered or cut and crowned, and Krieger recommends removing 1 inch from both the breech and the muzzle when chambering and crowning.

What you're paying for with a Krieger is the rifling process. Krieger uses single-point cut rifling, removing roughly .0001 inch of material per pass to reach near-perfect bore and groove concentricity. Unlike button rifling or hammer forging, the cut method induces no stress in the steel that later has to be relieved, which is what gives these barrels their uniform twist and concentric bore-and-groove geometry. The straight 1.250" Match contour gives you a heavy, rigid profile that settles harmonics for the kind of repeatable accuracy rimfire competition demands.

The 1:16 twist is the workhorse rate for standard-velocity .22 LR match ammunition, stabilizing typical 40-grain rimfire bullets across the velocity range you'll actually shoot in competition. Important Before You Order

This is an unchambered barrel blank, not a drop-in barrel. It requires a competent gunsmith to chamber, cut, and crown. Krieger recommends removing 1 inch from both the breech and the muzzle during that process, so account for that in your finished-length planning.
