The Craftsmanship Behind Brux Barrels

What sets Brux barrels apart? It's a combination of superior materials, state-of-the-art tools, and decades of experience. Norman Brux meticulously oversees each step of the barrel-making process to ensure unrivaled quality.

  1. Material Selection: Starting with the finest 4150 chromemoly or 416R stainless steel, each stock undergoes double stress relief before being custom cut to specifications.
  2. Barrel Contouring: The exterior of the barrel is meticulously turned on a lathe and prepared for drilling.
  3. Drilling: Utilizing high-pressure oil or coolant injection, the barrel is drilled with precision, ensuring straightness and centering.
  4. Outside Contouring: After drilling, the barrel undergoes final contouring to exact specifications.
  5. Reaming: A Pratt and Whitney reamer is employed to achieve precise bore size and surface finish.
  6. Hand Lapping: Each barrel undergoes meticulous hand lapping to remove any imperfections and achieve a mirror-like shine.
  7. Rifling: The heart of the process, rifling machines cut grooves into the bore with utmost precision.
  8. Final Hand Lapping: A final hand lapping ensures the smoothest bore possible before inspection and shipping.

Brux Barrels never compromises on quality, adhering to time-tested methods and closely guarded trade secrets to deliver barrels that consistently exceed expectations.
