What makes Impact Precision Shooting different?
Impact Precision Shooting was founded by Wade Stuteville and Tate Streater, two veteran PRS competitors who started trading ideas at an Oklahoma Practical Precision Shooting match. Wade is the 2012 PRS points champion and owner of Stuteville Precision in Shawnee, OK. Tate is Vice President at Tape-Matics, Inc., the machine shop that handles manufacturing. Every Impact receiver is machined from a single piece of hardened stainless steel: rough-machined, heat-treated, bolt races electric-discharge-machined, then finish-machined to hold tight tolerances. The receiver and full-length 20 MOA rail are one piece. A black carbon nitride finish increases surface hardness and bolt-cycling smoothness.
Product Lines at a Glance
All Impact receivers use a Remington 700 footprint, accept Rem 700 triggers, and ship with a 20 MOA integral rail.
- 737R Short Action. .700" bolt body, 36 oz, 1-1/16 x 16 TPI Class 3 tenon threads. Bolt face options: .308, Magnum, ARC, or .223. Available with 75° or 90° bolt throw. Magwell cut for AW (accepts both AICS single-stack and AW double-stack magazines).
- 777R Long Action. .700" bolt body, Magnum bolt face. Shares tenon threads with the 737R, so the same barrel inventory can serve both actions.
- 787R Long Action. .750" bolt body, 1-1/16 x 20 TPI Class 3 tenon threads. Magnum or Lapua bolt face. Magwell cut for the Wyatt MBE-3 extended mag box. 787R barrels are not interchangeable with the 737R or 777R.
- NBK Long Action (787-based). Impact's lighter long-action hunting receiver, designed around the 787R platform with weight savings for backcountry rifles.
- Bolt assemblies and small parts. Complete drop-in bolt assemblies (.308, .223, and Magnum bolt faces), firing pins, firing pin springs, cocking pieces, ejector kits, and trigger hangers.
Which Impact Action Is Right for You?
- PRS / NRL competition with short-cartridge calibers (6 Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6 Dasher, etc.): 737R short action. Impact actions have been the most popular custom action among the top 100 PRS shooters since 2018 (PrecisionRifleBlog).
- Magnum or long-cartridge competition (300 PRC, 7 PRC, 338 Lapua): 777R if you want to share barrels with a 737R build, or 787R for the heavier .750" bolt body and Wyatt MBE-3 mag box.
- Hunting: 787-based NBK long action.
- Repair or spares: Impact-spec bolt assemblies, firing pins, ejector kits, springs, and trigger hangers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Impact 737R a Rem 700 clone?
It shares the Remington 700 footprint, so it drops into Rem 700 stocks, chassis, bottom metal, and triggers. Internally it is its own design: one-piece receiver and rail, EDM-cut bolt races, .700" bolt, and tighter tolerances than a factory Rem 700.
What is the difference between the 75° and 90° bolt throw on the 737R?
Same action, different bolt lift. The 75° throw shortens the lift and clears more scope objectives, which competition shooters generally prefer. The 90° feels closer to a Rem 700 and is often chosen by shooters used to that lift.
Will a Rem 700 prefit thread onto an Impact 737R?
The 737R uses 1-1/16 x 16 TPI Class 3 tenon threads. Rem 700 uses the same nominal 1-1/16 x 16 TPI thread but a looser Class 2 tolerance, so a Rem 700 prefit is not a guaranteed fit. Order barrels cut to Impact's tenon spec. Bartlein, Brux, Krieger, and Proof Research all offer Impact-spec prefits.
What is the difference between the 777R and 787R?
The 777R has a .700" bolt body and shares 1-1/16 x 16 TPI tenon threads with the 737R, so barrels interchange. The 787R has a larger .750" bolt body, 1-1/16 x 20 TPI threads, and a Wyatt MBE-3 magwell cut. 787R barrels are not interchangeable with the 737R or 777R.
Are AICS magazines compatible?
Yes. The 737R comes with the AW cut, which feeds both AICS single-stack and AW double-stack magazines. Long-action receivers take long-action mags appropriate to the cartridge and bolt face.
What does NBK refer to?
NBK is Impact's lightweight hunting variant, built on the same footprint and quality as the 737R/777R/787R but with weight savings and a lighter bolt knob for backcountry rifles.
