Not Slippery When Wet

Not Slippery When Wet

My initial enthusiasm for the hunter style matches began to wane, as is common among the fickle. I'd put a rifle together that would do the deed. It shot well. But it was nearing the edge of the weight limit and it was taking the starch outta me.

Remembering that I had seen three versions of LRI's Murder Hornet fluting at the 2026 NRL Hunter Grand Slam Finale, I opened their website for a closer look. It's almost like taking a new car for a test drive. I bought into it. I sent it in. I paid the price. Now I have a barrel that used to shoot pretty well, that stands out like my "Look At Me!" yellow Jeep.

The barrel got here today, and with eager enthusiasm, thinking it would get here yesterday, I had my action, scope, bipod and stock poised to accept the prize.

Throwing it all on the scale without the plastic magazine I intend to feed it with, it came to 12.222 pounds. That's a 6.5 Creedmoor with a 26" barrel that started out with a Medium Palma contour!

Well, it ain't purdy, but I'm purdy sher I'm under the PRS Sportsman weight limit, as well as the NRL Hunter category that allows extra ounces for a can. And it's almost like velcro when your hand gets near it, it's like the rifle don't wanna let go! I mean, it ain't gonna slide outta yore hand if it's August in New Mexico, and you've been sweatin' for three days and the sweat is running off yer arms like the Mississippi flowin' through Hannibal.

Got too many guns? Change one of them. Make it more your own, and you've got a new favorite and you fergit you've got too many.
